This article will teach you how to adjust inventory quantities.
When adding or adjusting inventory, you are updating the On Hand quantity. Reserved and Available inventory levels are calculated by the system and cannot be updated by you.
There are multiple ways to adjust inventory quantities in Sellbrite: manually, in bulk or via CSV.
Adjusting Inventory Manually
One of the the quickest methods of adjusting your inventory in Sellbrite is through the Inventory Manager, located in the Inventory tab.
Here, you’ll see On Hand quantities appear in blue, along with your price. These fields can be quickly edited. Enter your inventory quantity in the On Hand field. This is the amount you physically have available for this SKU.
If a SKU is located in multiple warehouses, the On Hand quantity will not be editable from this page when viewing inventory across all locations.
You can apply a filter to only view inventory located in a single warehouse, or simply click on the Product Name and Sellbrite will take you to the inventory section for this product, where you can update inventory quantities across the multiple warehouses for the selected SKU.
You can optionally enter your cost (COGS) for this item and a bin location. If you wish to save a note with your transaction history, click the Add Note checkbox and enter your note. Click the Save button to save your changes.
Adjusting Inventory in Bulk
The Bulk Editor is a deeper view into your inventory, accessed through your Inventory Manager. To find the Bulk Editor, go to your Inventory Manager and select Bulk Editor.
Here, you will see your inventory in an Excel-like grid, where you can click on any of the white cells to edit the data in that cell. You can update your Bin Location, On Hand quantities and Sale Price of each item found in your various warehouses. For inventory items located in FBA, only Price can be updated.
This grid has many of the features you will find in a typical spreadsheet:
- Just like when working in a spreadsheet, you can use the arrow, tab and enter keys on your keyboard to move from cell to cell.
- You can also click and drag your cursor to select multiple cells.
- If you want to copy the value of a cell down to the cells below it, simply click and hold on the square in the bottom-right corner of the cell, and drag it down.
- You can also copy the cells from an external spreadsheet and paste them right into the selected cells in this grid.
Once you have made your changes, you must click the Save Changes button to save your changes. You can optionally add a note, which will be recorded with all the inventory transaction records created.
Adjusting Inventory via CSV
The fastest way to add inventory quantities is using the Inventory CSV.
Export your current inventory data
Go to the Export Inventory page:
Settings > Export Data > Inventory - All Data
This will generate a file with the following columns:
The Name field is there only to help you identify your products, but is not required or used when you import your quantities back into Sellbrite.
Enter new inventory quantities
There are 2 types of changes you can make.
1) New Totals
You wish to load a new total quantity for your SKU. For example, if you have 10 total units on hand, add a quantity of 10.
2) Receipts or Adjustments
You wish to receive in new quantities received, or make incremental adjustments. For example, if you just received in 5 more units, add 5. Or, if you need to account for 2 units sold on a sales channel outside Sellbrite, add -2.
Save the file. Make sure to save in CSV format.
Import new inventory data
Go to Settings > Import Data > Inventory
Select the file you wish to import. You will then have to tell Sellbrite 2 things.
1) The type of inventory data (from above). New totals are "Actual Quantity", and receipts/adjustments are "Quantity Adjustment".
2) Before you load the file, you'll need to choose which warehouse the inventory belongs to, that is being imported.
Click Upload file.
That's it! Your quantities are on their way into Sellbrite. You will get a notification when the file is done importing, as well as an email confirmation.
