Term Definition
Product Products are the physical items you sell. Your product data is stored in Sellbrite and includes attributes such as name, SKU, description, dimensions, images, etc. Products live in the Inventory tab within Sellbrite, and can be used to create listings from the Selling Manager.
Inventory Inventory refers to the physical quantity and value of the products in your possession. Inventory data includes quantity in stock, cost of goods, and warehouse information. Inventory can be edited from the Inventory Manager individually or in bulk, or via a CSV import.
Listings Listings refer to your products for sale on a sales channel. Listings and products are not the same, as listings are not physical things you sell, but rather the offer for the product on the sales channel (think of it like an ad). Listing data includes many channel-specific attributes, such as price, shipping and payment information, and sales channel category. Listings can be viewed for a specific channel on the Listings tab.
Channels Channels are the marketplaces and ecommerce platforms where you sell your products. In Sellbrite, each channel has inventory rules, listing presets, and channel-specific settings that you can customize to your liking.
Categories Categories can mean one of two things. On the Products page you can create and assign categories to your products for internal organization. This is helpful for batch listing, reporting, and editing data across a group of similar products. You can create any custom category you want.

Within each sales channel, categories refer to the specific listing categories available for each marketplace channel. Each marketplace channel has its own category tree for you to list under.

SKU A SKU, or Stock Keeping Unit, is the unique identifier that you assign to each product you sell.  In the retail industry, the SKU is a part of inventory control and enables a retailer to track a product in their inventory that may be in warehouses.  A SKU is required in Sellbrite, and on most sales channels, and is also used to track and link your products, listings and orders all together.
Linking Linking refers to the connection between a listing and its corresponding product. With a link in place, Sellbrite knows which product inventory should be adjusted whenever an order is placed for a particular listing. Linking also allows Sellbrite to update the available inventory quantities to your listings.
Import To IMPORT data means to get data INTO Sellbrite, whether from your existing sales channels or from a CSV file.
Export To EXPORT data means to get data OUT OF Sellbrite. We currently export data in 2 formats: 1) an inventory file that shows SKU/Qty/COGS, and 2) a product file that shows your product attributes like description, dimensions, features, images, etc.
