If you are new to selling or advertising you products on Google, you may have noticed there are a few different programs to choose from. This article will help you make sense of each platform, and determine which (if not all) are right for your business.

Surfaces Across Google

This is a free program that allows people to see product results from your store on various Google surfaces, including Google Images, the Google Shopping tab, and Google Search (availability of listing types for each Google surface vary by country).

Google Shopping Ads

Google Shopping Ads is almost identical to Surfaces Across Google. Think of it as paid version of the program. Instead of relying on keywords and SEO (search engine optimization), Shopping Ads will promote your products based on the campaigns that you create and your product information.

Google Shopping Actions

Google Shopping Actions does not require you to have an online store. Google Shopping Actions is more like a Google marketplace, where the entirety of the transaction is done on Google, rather than being linked back to your online store from a Google ad. Google does charge a commission on each sale.
