Some channels, like Amazon, eBay, and Walmart, offer their own category structures to which you can map the attributes of your own inventory data, making your listings appear higher in search results.

Sellbrite's Template functionality helps you list products quickly by mapping data in your Inventory to the various fields available for the categories of each channel.

Templates allow you to send data to a sales channel in 2 different ways:

1. Mapping attributes from your Inventory to the Template

2. Storing values directly on the Template

Mapping Attributes

Templates allow the various inventory data in your catalog, including both default attributes and Custom Attributes, to be passed to your listings easily.

This means if you have a default field in your Inventory that holds a changing value for each product, like Model Number or Brand, or a Custom Attribute you've created for your products, like Stone Clarity or Stone Cut, you can assign that field to the template, thereby pulling the value directly from your product.

Here is an example of a template for the Diamond Engagement Rings category on eBay, using a mixture of default and Custom Attributes:

By mapping the attribute fields to your Template, you can change the data on your listings by simply editing the value in your Inventory tab.

Storing Values

As opposed to mapping attributes, Templates can also be configured to store values directly.

Say for example all of your Diamond Jewelry is made in the USA, and you only sell products from Tiffany & Co. You can modify the same Template above, like this:

With the values stored directly on the Template, it doesn't matter what you have in your Inventory tab for those fields, or if those fields exist at all.
