Why Is My Product Showing Under the Wrong Walmart Listing?

Better understand why your products are mismatched on Walmart and how to prevent it.

Written by Elliot K

If you've noticed a product appearing under the wrong listing on Walmart.com, you're not alone. This usually happens because of a UPC, GTIN, or EAN discrepancy, or because the product is set up as part of a kit.

Why this happens

Walmart matches products to listings using their UPC or EAN. If a vendor provides Walmart with inaccurate data, either a false UPC or one that was entered incorrectly, Walmart can end up routing a product to the wrong listing.

Troubleshooting a UPC or EAN mismatch

First, confirm that your own UPC is valid and accurate. If it is, another seller has likely listed a product using an incorrect UPC that conflicts with yours. In this case, contact Walmart Support and open a case so they can investigate.

Troubleshooting a kit or a bundle mismatch

Mismatches also happen when a product is listed as part of a kit or bundle. Walmart currently only supports one listing per UPC and doesn't support kits that share a UPC with another listing. For example, if two SKUs share the same UPC, one as a single unit and one as part of a kit, Walmart routes only one of those SKUs to the listing for that UPC. Typically, it routes the single-unit SKU.

If you list a kitted SKU on Walmart using the same UPC as an existing single-unit SKU, you're likely to see this mismatch. Keep in mind that Sellbrite doesn't currently support kitting or bundling, so if you're managing kits manually, you may already be running into this issue.
