How to Create Variation Listings

Learn how to create and publish variation listing your sales channels

Written by Holland Rocha

Creating variation listings in Sellbrite is similar to creating single-item listings.

The main difference is that variation listings include products that have multiple options, such as different sizes or colors. Each option is treated as a separate SKU under the same product.

These options are defined by your product’s variation attributes. For example, a product may vary by size and color.

Create a Category Template

To send variation information to a marketplace, you need to use a Category Template.

You can find your Category Templates by going to Settings > Templates & Recipes.

Select the the desired marketplace and select Add New Category Template. You will need to provide all required information such as Tax Code, Category, etc.

Once a category has been selected, toggle Advanced options on to view all available listing fields.

Next, match your product’s variation attributes to the relevant marketplace fields.

For example:

  • Map size to the marketplace’s Clothing Size field

  • Map color to the marketplace’s Color field

This tells Sellbrite how to send your variation data to the marketplace correctly.

Apply your Category Template

Once your Category Template is ready, apply it to your variation listings.

From the Listings Manager:

  • Select the listings you want to update

  • Select Apply Template

Once your Category Template has been applied, your variation information should be added automatically to your listings.

If this is your first time creating variation listings, you may want to open a listing and review the category information to see how the variation attributes were applied.

If all required listing information is provided, you can publish your variation listings.
