Resolve Credit Card Errors in Sellbrite

Learn why the credit card you are using to sign up for Sellbrite is not being accepted.

Written by Holland Rocha

If you entered your credit card information and received the error "This transaction was declined. Please contact your bank or try a different card," one of the following may be the cause:

  • Incorrect billing address

  • Mismatched card information

  • Caching or DNS issues

Card billing and bank location

Sellbrite cannot accept cards from Ghana, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, or Ukraine. If your card or bank is based in one of these countries, you will need to use a card with a billing address from an accepted location.

Mismatched data

Make sure the information you entered matches your card exactly. The two most commonly mismatched fields are the expiration date and the CVV (Security Code).

If all the details match your card, check with your bank to confirm that the zip code, country, and state on file match what you are entering.

"Number Invalid" error

If you enter your credit card number incorrectly, you will see a "number invalid" error below the credit card number field.

To resolve this, confirm the number on your card and re-enter it. If the error persists, it may be a caching or DNS issue. Try the following:

  1. Open an incognito window in your browser and attempt to sign up again.

  2. If the error continues in incognito mode, try signing up from a mobile device with WiFi disabled so you are connecting through a different network.
