eBay's Guaranteed Delivery program lets qualified sellers promise buyers their order will arrive by a specific date. eBay offers two ways to qualify: the Handling Time option and the Door-to-Door option. This article walks through the requirements for each, how to set them up in Sellbrite, and how to fulfill orders once you're using Guaranteed Delivery.
Quick navigation
Before your start
To use either Guaranteed Delivery option, you must first opt in on eBay. Once you've opted in, you'll need to meet eBay's specific requirements for whichever option you choose, either Handling Time or Door-to-Door, before Sellbrite can support Guaranteed Delivery on your listings.
Using the Handling Time option
If you chose eBay's Handling Time option, your listings must meet these requirements:
Handling time must be set to zero or one business day.
Returns must be accepted for the item.
The item's location is specified.
To set all three, go to the Payments & Returns tab of an eBay listing in Sellbrite. From there, you can set your handling time, enable returns, and specify the item's location.
If you use a Payment Template, you can set handling time, returns, and item location there instead. To do this, edit an existing eBay Payment Template, or create a new one from the Listing Templates & Recipes page.
Once you've set your handling time, returns, and item location, select Save. If the template is already applied to your eBay listings, those listings update automatically. If not, you'll need to apply the template to your eBay listings manually. Learn more about eBay Templates here.
Once your selected eBay listings meet all three requirements, fulfill orders within your set handling time to make sure you meet the Guaranteed Delivery date eBay sets for the buyer.
Using the Door-to-Door option
In order to use eBay's Door-to-Door option, your listings must meet these requirements:
A shipping rate table must be created at ebay.com/RateTable to define shipping costs and speed by region.
Active listings' shipping details must be associated with a rate table to guarantee delivery.
A one-day or expedited shipping service option with a transit time of one to four days must be chosen.
Returns must be accepted for the item.
The location of the item must be specified.
You'll need to create your rate table directly in eBay, but once it exists, you can handle everything else in Sellbrite.
Renew your eBay token first
Before you can apply rate tables in Sellbrite, you need to renew your eBay token, which is the authentication connection between Sellbrite and eBay. To renew it, go to your eBay Channel Settings in Sellbrite and select Renew Token.
Applying rate tables
Once your token is renewed, you can start applying shipping rate tables to your listings:
Go to the Shipping tab of the eBay listing.
Set your Shipment Type to Flat.
Toggle on Shipping Rate Tables.
If your rate tables don't appear, select Refresh Shipping Tables to pull them into Sellbrite. Once refreshed, select a rate table from the dropdown, then choose a shipping service option with a transit time of one to four days.
Next, go to the Payments & Returns tab of the listing to accept returns and specify the item's location.
Once you've applied your rate table, selected a shipping service with a one-to-four-day transit time, and set returns and item location, select Save & Publish.
You can also meet these same requirements using a Shipping Template and Payment Template instead of setting them listing by listing. If your templates are already applied to your eBay listings, those listings update automatically. If not, apply the templates manually. Learn more about eBay Templates here.
Fulfilling your Guaranteed Delivery orders
Once your listings qualify for Guaranteed Delivery, you'll need to process and ship those orders as quickly as possible to meet the promised delivery date.
To spot these orders easily in Sellbrite, look for the eBay icon in the Ship Method column of the Ready to Ship tab on your Orders page.
When you open a Guaranteed Delivery order in Sellbrite, you'll see the Ship By Date and Deliver By Date in the Order Details.
