If you've oversold merchant-fulfilled items on Amazon and aren't sure why, ghost listings could be the cause.
What Are Ghost Listings and What Causes Them?
A ghost listing is a duplicate listing that doesn't appear in your Amazon Seller Central, but is visible to buyers on the marketplace.
This happens when a listing was initially imported into Sellbrite as an FBM (merchant-fulfilled) listing, but was later changed to FBA directly on Amazon. Since the change occurred outside of Sellbrite, our system isn't aware of the update. As a result, Sellbrite continues to push merchant-fulfilled quantities to a non-existent listing, creating a "ghost" listing page on Amazon.
How to Prevent Ghost Listings
To prevent ghost listings, always change the fulfillment type in Sellbrite when sending inventory to an FBA warehouse. Avoid making this change directly in Amazon.
Here's how to convert the fulfillment type in Sellbrite:
For a single listing: Go to the "Listing Details" section of the Listing Page, where you'll find the "Fulfilled By" field. Select FBA and republish the listing.
For multiple listings: In the Amazon Listings Manager, select the listings to convert and click "Bulk Edit" then select FBA from the "Fulfilled By" field. Once you're done, republish your listings.
