What Product Data Does Amazon Provide to Sellbrite?

Learn what information Amazon provides upon listing import, and what they do not.

Written by Elliot K

If you sell on Amazon, you shouldn't rely on Amazon to build product data in Sellbrite. Amazon restricts what data it makes available to download, due to copyright restrictions on things like descriptions and images, as well as other limitations in Amazon's API.

What data Amazon does provide

When you import a listing from Amazon into Sellbrite, you'll get:

  • SKU, ASIN, price, quantity, condition, and condition note

  • The main product image

  • When available: brand, manufacturer, model number, dimensions, weight, and UPC/EAN/ISBN

What data Amazon does not provide

  • Product descriptions written by you (otherwise, descriptions are copyrighted by Amazon)

  • Product features, also known as bullet points 1 through 5

  • Additional images and high-resolution images

  • Restock date, handling time, sale price, and search terms

What this means for you

Since Amazon withholds this data, you'll want to maintain your own product descriptions, features, and images elsewhere, such as in Sellbrite's product catalog, rather than depending on what you can pull from an existing Amazon listing. This helps make sure your listings stay complete and accurate if you ever need to republish or move them to another channel.
