There are 3 inventory types you will see in Sellbrite: Available, Reserved, and On Hand:

On Hand

'On Hand' represents the physical quantity of a product in your warehouse. This number reflects the total units you have stored and ready for processing.

Example: You have 20 units of a product in your warehouse. Your On Hand quantity is 20.

Note: You can manually adjust On Hand quantities for your merchant warehouse locations, but not for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) warehouses.

Reserved

'Reserved' indicates items that have been ordered but are still in your warehouse, awaiting shipment. These items are held aside until the order is either shipped or canceled.

How It Works:

  • When an order is imported into Sellbrite, the relevant quantity is moved from Available to Reserved.

  • If the order is shipped, the Reserved quantity is deducted from On Hand.

  • If the order is canceled, the Reserved quantity returns to Available and On Hand.

Example: You receive an order for 5 units from your 20 On Hand stock. Those 5 units become Reserved, leaving:

  • On Hand: 20 (still physically present)

  • Reserved: 5

  • Available: 15

After shipping the 5 units, On Hand decreases to 15, and Reserved returns to 0.

Available

'Available' represents how many units customers can purchase. It’s calculated as:

On Hand - Reserved = Available.

This is the quantity Sellbrite syncs with your sales channels to prevent overselling.

Example: If you have 20 On Hand and 5 Reserved, your Available quantity is 15. After shipping, Available updates to match On Hand if no new orders come in.
