How to Ship Orders with Amazon FBA

Learn how to fulfill orders via FBA, and how to ship Seller-Fulfilled Prime orders.

Written by Holland Rocha

Note: Before proceeding, ensure you're familiar with how FBA works with Sellbrite. Learn more about FBA integration with Sellbrite here.

Sellbrite allows you to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to ship orders from other shopping carts or marketplaces, provided you have FBA inventory available.

You can choose to send orders to FBA either automatically or manually.

Automatically send orders to FBA

With FBA Auto-Fulfillment enabled, orders will be sent to Amazon within 20 minutes of being imported into Sellbrite. Make sure you understand how this feature works before turning it on.

To set it up:

  1. Go to the Channel Settings page for the channel you want to auto-fulfill with FBA.

  2. Enable the FBA Auto-Fulfillment option.

Once enabled, you have two options for how partial orders are handled:

  • Send orders to FBA only if the entire order can be fulfilled by FBA.

  • Allow partial shipments if only some items in the order can be fulfilled by FBA.

You can also map the channel's shipping options to FBA shipping speeds. This ensures that when an order imports into Sellbrite, it gets sent to FBA with the correct shipping speed.

Note: If you just enabled FBA, the FBA Ship Speed Mapping section will appear for each channel once you receive new orders from that channel. eBay is the exception — it appears immediately. Sellbrite builds the list of available shipping options for each channel from the shipping options that appear on incoming orders.

Orders will now be automatically sent to FBA for this channel within 20 minutes of being imported into Sellbrite. Once Amazon ships the order, the actual Ship Date and tracking information will appear in Sellbrite. Tracking will then be sent back to the originating sales channel and the order will be marked Shipped.

Manually send orders to FBA

To manually ship an order with FBA, go to your Orders tab and find your orders in the Ready to Ship tab:

  1. Select the order you want to fulfill to open the Order Details page. Here you'll see the warehouse Sellbrite has pulled inventory from, the fulfillment speed, and the originating sales channel.

  2. Select Send to FBA at the top of the page.

A confirmation window will appear. From here, select the Fulfillment Quantity and Fulfillment Speed.

Fulfillment speed defaults to Standard. If your customer selected a faster shipping speed on the sales channel, make sure to adjust this before confirming.

Fulfillment Quantity

The Fulfillment Quantity field lets you split an order into multiple shipments. For example, if an order contains 2 units and you want to ship one unit yourself, you can set the quantity to 1 and send only that unit to FBA. You can then add your own shipment to the order for the remaining unit.

Shipment Info

After sending the order to FBA, a shipment record will appear on the order showing the estimated Ship Date. The order will also move into the Shipping tab of your Orders page.

The order will show Fulfilled in place of the warehouse location. At this point, an inventory transaction will be created for the product and it will be removed from inventory allocation.

Once Amazon ships the order, the actual Ship Date and tracking information will appear in Sellbrite. Tracking will then be sent back to the originating sales channel and the order will be marked Shipped.
