How to Add Users and Set Permissions

Learn how to add multiple users and assign user permissions to your Sellbrite account.

Written by Holland Rocha

Sellbrite allows multiple users to access your account, each with customized permissions that control what they can see and do.

Adding new users

To add a new user, go to Settings > Users. Note that only the original account owner can add new users

User permissions

By default, all new users have full access to your account. Sellbrite allows you to restrict access on a per-user basis across several areas of the platform.

Dashboard access

When Dashboard access is enabled, users can see all parts of the Dashboard. If you disable it, the top two charts (Orders and Total Sales) will be removed from the Dashboard for that user.

Inventory access

The inventory tab has a few different permissions available.

  • All access — Disabling this toggle revokes access to the Inventory tab entirely.

  • Edit product attributes — Restricts the ability to edit product details.

  • Edit inventory levels — Restricts the ability to update inventory quantities.

  • Delete products — Prevents the deletion of products from your account.

For example, if you have a team member who should be able to update inventory quantities but not edit product details, you would enable Allow access and Edit stock levels only.

Note: Disabling Inventory permissions does not restrict access to the Import and Export Data pages in Settings. It is still possible to make changes to inventory and product data through the Product and Inventory CSV. To prevent bulk editing via Import/Export, you will also need to disable Application Settings.

Listings access

The Listings tab offers similar permissions to the Inventory tab:

  • All access — Disabling this toggle revokes access to the Listings tab entirely.

  • Edit listings — Restricts the ability to edit listings.

  • Publish listings — Restricts the ability to push listings live.

  • Delete listings — Prevents the deletion of listings from your account.

For example, if you have a team member who should be able to create and enrich draft listings but not publish them, you would enable Allow access and Edit listings only.

Orders and reports access

Orders permissions control access to each view within the Orders tab. Users can be granted access to Orders, Shipments, or both independently. Reports permissions control access to the Reports page and all reports within it.

If you disable Dashboard access for a user, it is recommended to also disable Orders and Reports access unless those are specifically needed for their role.

Application and developer settings

Disabling Application Settings restricts the user from every page in Settings except Change Password. This includes Templates & Recipes, Imports & Exports, Sales Channel Settings, Carriers and Integrations, Warehouses, Categories, and more.

Alternative routes to these pages, including the Channel Settings and Import from Channel links within your Listings Manager, will also be restricted if this permission is disabled.

Disabling Developer settings restricts access to the API settings page.
