Duplicate Etsy orders can occasionally appear in Sellbrite, typically due to payment issues. Here’s why this happens and how to handle it.

Why Duplicate Orders Occur

Declined Payment or Fraudulent Orders:
If a customer’s payment is declined or Etsy flags the order as fraudulent, Etsy will delete the order from your account. However, the deleted order may still be imported into Sellbrite, where it will appear as unpaid.

Payment Issue Resolved:
If the customer resolves the payment issue with Etsy, a new order will be generated with the same buyer information but a different Etsy order number. This creates multiple orders in Sellbrite for the same Etsy purchase, even though only one order appears in Etsy.

Canceling Duplicate Orders

Since duplicate orders don’t show up in your Etsy account, they can’t be canceled there. You’ll need to cancel these orders directly in Sellbrite.

To cancel an Etsy order:

  • Locate and open the order

  • Click 'Mark as Canceled'
